All the latest updates and news from the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo, one of Bermuda's leading visitor attractions!
Students at Chatterbox Preschool have recently been making waves in the art world, thanks to their recent studies about the ocean.
The result was a fantastic art auction, featuring art inspired by sea creatures found at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo, and the school chose to donate the funds raised from that auction to the Bermuda Zoological Society.
Students from Chatterbox Preschool present BAMZ Principal Curator, Dr. Ian Walker, with a check:
“Chatterbox Preschool is so pleased to be able to share this donation,” explained head teacher, Sherraine Flemming.
“The children have not only been busy creating art for their art auction to raise money, but have spent a great deal of time learning about our environment and the ocean, fully enjoying the experience.”
Students re-created the North Rock Tank exhibit at BAMZ, featuring their own artwork:
Dr. Ian Walker, Principal Curator, shared: “I would like to personally thank and congratulate the children and teachers at Chatterbox Preschool for their generosity and forward-thinking community service.
Students hosted an art auction to raise funds for the Bermuda Turtle Project:
“It was wonderful to see their artwork and I was particularly impressed with the creation of their own North Rock Tank for the school.
“These children were wonderful to meet and were very excited to hear that the money they had raised from their art auction would help sea turtles in Bermuda through the BZS’s Bermuda Turtle Project.”
