The camera set up to film Cahows on Nonsuch Island recently caught an unusual visitor, with a critically endangered Bermuda skink stopping by the burrow, wandering around and taking a rather close look at the camera.

Deloitte announced Hannah Gibbons as the 2013 Deloitte Scholarship recipient, valued at $15,000 per year for up to two years.
Hannah’s academic excellence, dedication to the community and involvement in extra-curricular activities set her apart from animpressive pool of applicants this year. Hannah is currently in her second year of study at the University of California, Berkley, and is a graduate of Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda.
While at university, Hannah is working as part of the psychology research program at UC Berkeley, participating and assisting with psychological testing. At Saltus, Hannah was class valedictorian and won prizes for the highest grades in her yeargroup in a number of subjects. Hannah has volunteered with Youth Net and BAMZ, and also won the 2012 Teen Award in Academics.
John Johnston, CEO of Deloitte’s Bermuda and Caribbean region, commented, “Education and skills development are the foundation to developing a talented workforce and at Deloitte we take great pride in supporting Bermudians in their academic and career pursuits. We are pleased to recognize Hannah, who has consistently demonstrated excellence and a strong work ethic. We wish her the best of luck as she continues her studies.”
Commenting on her selection as the 2013 Scholarship recipient, Hannah said, “I am very pleasedto be awarded this Scholarship and I am extremely grateful to Deloitte for providing me with this award which will support me as I continue in my university career.”
Deloitte remains committed to the development of outstanding talent in young Bermudians and has provided Bermudian graduate and undergraduate students in Accounting, Business & Actuarial studies with funding for their overseas education for over ten years.
The Deloitte Scholarship is one of many ways Deloitte engages future leaders and offers them a glimpse of the company’s culture.
