[Updated] What appears to be a dead eel was found washed up on an east end beach this afternoon [Aug 20].
It is approximately 5 foot long, and while we have not yet been able to officially confirm what it is, unofficial reports indicate it may be a very bloated eel. We have asked the Department of Conservation and BAMZ for information and will update as able.
Update 4.03pm: The Bermuda, Museum, Aquarium and Zoo [BAMZ] staff confirm that it is a moray eel.
