Scientists at the Smithsonian Institution recently recognised two new Bermuda endemic fish species. The Collette’s half beak and the Yellowfin Chromis have been known for some time, but they were only recently determined to be unique to Bermuda’s waters.

Two BZS Lecture Series Installments Coming Up

The Bermuda Zoological Society is getting set to present two lectures in the coming months, including talks by Kimberley Zuill, Director of the Bermuda Weather Service, and Dr. Robbie Smith, Curator of the Bermuda National History Museum.

The first lecture will take place on Thursday, January 28 at 7.00pm, with Kimberley Zuill covering the topic “Hurricanes 101, with a focus on Bermuda.”

Following suit the next month will be Dr. Robbie Smith on “The Ecology of the Sargasso Sea,” with that talk to be held on February 24 at 7.00pm
