The Bermuda Turtle Project has revealed that three turtles originally tagged in Bermuda in the 1990s have been seen on nesting beaches in Costa Rica and Mexico, each bearing titanium tags that were put on them during turtle tagging sessions by the Bermuda Turtle Project.

The Bermuda Turtle Project is pleased to announce that three turtles, originally tagged in Bermuda in the 1990s, have been seen on nesting beaches in Costa Rica and Mexico, each bearing titanium tags that were put on them during turtle tagging sessions by the Bermuda Turtle Project.

Happy birthday!: aquarist Kascia White presents Pebbles with her cake of fish
Special day: Pebbles is treated to some fish
It’s not every animal that is treated to a birthday surprise.
But for Pebbles the Atlantic harbour seal, it must have felt like all her birthdays had come at once on Wednesday when she was given a frozen cake of fish.
All the other seals at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo were kept to one side as staff gathered to wish the 23-year-old seal happy birthday.

Pebbles, who was born at BAMZ in 1993, is the youngest of the aquarium’s seals and was hand-reared from two days old.
In the wild, the average lifespan of an Atlantic harbour seal is about 25 years.
