Wednesday 11th May was Pebbles the seal's 23rd birthday!
To celebrate Aquarist Ryan Tacklin arranged for Pebbles to have a separate encounter with him,
as the other three seals were kept occupied in the other pool. He froze some of their fish in a bowl to make her "fish-cake-pop".
Here are some fun facts about Pebbles!
Pebbles is an Atlantic Harbour Seal. She was born in 1993 at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.
She was hand-reared from 2 days old. Of the seals we have at the facility,
she is the youngest. In the wild their average lifespan is 25 years.
Pebbles' birthday even made it to the local press! Click here to view her article.
