The Bermuda Zoological Society has announced that due to the possibility of Karl impacting Bermuda over the weekend, the Reef Watch event will be postponed until Saturday, 8th October.

“Due to inclement weather, we are extending our Reef Watch teams’ survey opportunities for anytime in the next two weeks to ensure that they have a positive experience,” said Dr. Ian Walker, Principle Curator at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ].

The celebratory event for all participants of Reef Watch has also been postponed, and will now take place on Saturday, October 8th from 4:30pm till 8:00pm at BAMZ and this is the time when Reef Watchers can submit their collected data and return the equipment.

The BZS said, “If you are interested in donating to reef conservation, please visit here and you can either donate to a specific team or to the general donation group, “I Support Reef Watch [General Donations]”. Anybody interested in taking part in this exciting citizen scientist event can contact the Reef Watch team by sending an email to development.bzs@gov.bm.”
