Daisy — the loggerhead turtle that has been residing at the Bermuda Museum, Aquarium & Zoo since she underwent life-saving surgery to remove a rusting hook in her throat three months ago — has had her stitches removed and it is hoped she can be released back into the wild in late spring/early summer.

Hammerhead Shark ‘Visits’ White Horse Pub

A video of a hammerhead shark outside of the White Horse Pub & Restaurant has gone viral.

At around 3 pm on Friday, a hammerhead shark was seen along the bridge to Ordnance Island. A quick-thinking jetski instructor from KS Watersports filmed the shark swimming just below the surface of the water.

He shared that with Chris Morley, a manager at the White Horse, who posted two videos of the hammerhead on the pub’s Facebook page.
 

 

He said a shark was spotted “a couple of weeks ago that someone had filmed from Wahoo’s. People were saying it’s not the same one because it’s not a hammerhead. It wasn’t a clear video but it looks like a different shark.”

Mr Morely added, “There’s never been one spotted outside the White Horse. This is the first time. It swam along the bridge and showed right off for us.”

The video has been viewed more than 20,000 times with almost 400 shares.

A hammerhead shark was also spotted near Flatt’s a few days ago.
