Aquarium: open since Sunday

The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) is open for business — and has been since Sunday, in spite of sustaining some damage over the weekend from Hurricane Gonzalo.

Staff are hard at work to reopen the exhibits that aren’t yet ready for guests, Bermuda Zoological Society spokeswoman Sarah Westhead said.

However, the North Rock Tank, Seal Walkway, Local Tails, Zoo Courtyard and the Natural History Museum are all open — along with the café, AZU Beastro.

Portions of the children’s playground, Discovery Cove, are also open — although a section has been cordoned off.

Ms Westhead thanked the public on behalf of BAMZ for their patience during the cleanup, as well as the renovations on the Aquarium’s roof.
