The Bermuda Zoological Society recently purchased a new 30ft Beachcat boat, Callista, thanks to generous donations from Mrs. Diana Bergquist, the Stempel Foundation, Clarien Bank, Somers Isle Shipping and RUBiS.

The Department of Conservation Services said they would like to advice the public that renovations are to begin at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ] to replace the Aquarium Hall roof and undertake internal renovations.
The Aquarium Hall will be closed from Monday 6th October and is expected to reopen of March 2015.
A spokesperson said, “For clarification the renovations are restricted to the Aquarium Hall only and the rest of the facility will remain open for the duration of the project.
“The areas remaining open are the Zoo, the Natural History Museum and Library, Local Tails and Discovery Room, Playground and Restaurant. The North Rock Tank will open when safe to do so and the gift shop will be relocated to one of the facility’s classrooms. The Bermuda Zoological Society’s education programs will not be affected.
“The Public will access through the normal admission’s entrance for the first week after which they will be redirected through a temporary entrance near the Seal Pool. For further information please phone 293-2727.”
